New State Pension Statements.
It has been announced by the Pensions Minister Steve Webb, that the Government is launching a new campaign targeted at workers.
The aim is to highlight the changes to the State Pension from April 2016 and the new flat, level of pension that can be expected in retirement.
Using the tagline ‘Your future, your pension’, the purpose of the campaign is to increase the public’s understanding of how the State Pension is being changed with effect from April 2016 and what these changes will mean for their household.
It is said that advertisements for the new campaign will start emerging later this year.
In addition to this, a service to entitle people to a personalised written estimate of what they can expect to receive in retirement under the new systems, based on their National Insurance contributions to date and their work history.
The service will initially only be available to people who reach State Pension age in the first five years of the new scheme (between April 2016 and August 2021). However, over the next 18 months the service will be gradually expanded and will eventually become available to all working aged people.
