2005 Chancellor's Budget National Insurance

National Insurance The threshold at which no National Insurance becomes payable has risen from £91 per week to £94 per week. 

This is the case for both employers and employees.   There has been no change in the levels of National Insurance payable by employers or employees but the lower earnings limit has increased from £79 per week to £82 per week. 

This is the level upon which eligibility for Statutory Sick Pay and other associated statutory benefits are based.
