2005 Chancellor's Budget Child Trust Funds

Child Trust Funds Government discussions have now started to extend the Child Trust Fund payments into secondary school years.

In addition to the existing payment of £250 for children born after September 2002, the Government will make a further payment of £250 at the age of 7.  It is also looking into making further payments once the child reaches secondary school age.

From 6 April 2006 the investment rules for Child Trust Funds will be extended, meaning they will be able to invest in any collective investment that is authorised for marketing in the UK by the Financial Services Authority.
